Random Act of Kindness

Today I, with one overflowing grocery trolley and one overtired baby, was tapped on the shoulder by a lady.

"Can I push for you" she asked.

Do you know my first thought was "no" because I am all independent and "can do it myself" but then I realised how truly stupid that attitude is when you have one overflowing grocery trolley ,one overtired baby and several dozen cars to thread your way through.

"Thank you very much" I responded, and I am still thanking that kind lady in my thoughts hours lady (the groceries are unpacked but the overtired baby is just that much more overtired).

So - any random acts of kindness out there to report?

Awww... the world is full of nice peoples! My random act of kindness was free tickets from a woman I had never met (hi JT!).

You know what - I was going to do a similar post myself - I have had so many lovely Emiratie people lately, (males in dish dashes, ladies in full abeya gear) help me out at the supermarket lately, I am always very surprised. Arabs get a bad name, but when stuff like this happen to you it is worth talking/blogging about.

You know, the random acts of kindness I've encountered is patience. People who wait patiently and speak slowly while you run a lottery machine that you are not familiar with. Since I do not play the lottery, I don't speak lottery-ese. People who wait patiently, smile encouragingly, and praise you for a job well done in the end. Those are the acts of kindness that I've met recently, and it makes me realize what a difference patience makes. There are a lot of grumpy impatient people in this world. Patience is like a summer breeze.

They can come at you out of no where and they should be considered rewards for all that unappreciated stuff you do like laundry and diaper doody. Hope more goodness comes your way.

Daughter gave birth to a beauty of a boy recently. Can't hug those babies enough, even when they are overtired and cranky. Best wishes to you and your family.

Just the general good will, happiness and good vibes at the World Autism Awareness Day march yesterday from those involved and strangers passing by - in the middle of a busy, crowded capital city at lunchtime! :)

The last one I encountered was someone giving me their parking docket with still half an hour left on it at the shops.

I try to do let people go ahead of me when driving. That's my random act of kindness and forcing myself to be patient, which I agree is so important.

such a lovely thing to do for someone... I hate to say it but my first thought if a stranger were to offer me that kind of help would be one full of suspicion, must work on that :)
