Dear Sir/Madam,
Firstly, I am not a regular purchaser of your cat food.
The cat is old and fussy and there are basically four flavours of food he will tolerate.
These four foods will, on occasion, change - but that is just to keep me on my toes.
Due to distribution disruption of late, the slightly cheaper secondary cat food (of which he eats 2 flavours out of the three offered in the box) that I alternate with the primary (and generally more expensive) cat food is not available.
So I bought 3:sachets of a your brand to test on the cat. It was on special and it was available.
Beef Mince & Gravy and Chicken Mince & Gravy were deemed acceptable (which was a surprise as similar flavours have, in the past, been met with disdain), so I was self-congratulating and contemplating adding them to the list and expanding his flavour profile to a possible 6.
Then I opened the 3rd.
Tuna & Crab.
Well, I hope to goodness it was off, because I worry for those who work in your factories, those who regularly consumer it and their owners.
It was so liquid it immediately spilt - and the stench made the cat literally run from the room.
I have wrapped the sachet and whatever contents that I could in a
plastic bag in the freezer until it can be put into the bins on garbage
collection morning. Poor garbos.
The cat bowl has been turfed out of the window, my husband has washed the floor and I have changed my clothes and - after my daughter liberally doused them in Glen 20 (she does tend to overreact and was avoiding bedtime) - I threw them into the outside laundry.
My olfactory memory is still juddering from the experience.
Please reassure me that this is not a regular reaction from your cat food?
Thank you

Ewww! That sounds nasty!!
It truly was Kelly - bin day today so as soon as the sun made its presence felt that bag from the freezer was out the door.
Cat food is disgusting at the best of times. I can't imagine it being even worse.
So true - one of the down sides to having this particular cat is he likes to be fed, and unfortunately cat food is what works with him and our budget.
EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW...for heaven's sake! I hope you send that letter to the company, and I hope you come right back here and let us know what happened next. When a cat runs from catfood, well, Houston? We have a problem. It is not unusual for them to turn up their little noses at stuff, but running from the bowl is abnormal.
