Breath-taking

On the way home from a job this morning, I saw two RBT (random breath testing) units - one on each side of the road - on the way out of town.

It is a hard-drinking area. Heck, it even has a major spirit bear its name. But I wonder how many were caught at 11.30am.

On the way to softball training into town by a different route at 3.45pm, another one pulled me over.

"Oh look Mum. They're breath-taking," said 'Salina.

Breath-taking. *heehee*

I have been breath-tested once in my life - a couple of years ago, just after moving to Trinity Beach. It was 1:30pm.

And hopefully the officer was not too flustered by the compliment!

lol.. I hope everyone was nice and sober so the breath-taking didn't lead to car and license-taking.

DD once refused to let me 'take' her temperature, because if I took it she'd be cold then!

I'm always surprised when they catch drunks in the morning........ but then again I guess it depends on how much they drank the night before.

Breath-taking lol

hA! I had to read this twice. I read RBT Random breath taking units. I was right there with Salina even before I got to Salina's comment.

I have often wondered that about RBTs. Fair enough on a Friday night or even early hours of the morning...but in the middle of the day???!!! I was once pulled up on my way to work at about 8.30 in the morning. I had my work badge on and was so obviously not drunk (heck, if I have a sip of champagne at new year's I'm doing well!). Once this police officer realised that he wasn't going to get me for RBT, he then proceeded to inspect my car! Grrrrrr! Obviously, he found nothing so let me proceed on my way but really...I wonder how much of this work is more revenue getting than safety oriented!

The sight of an RBT unit would probably take your breath away if you happened to be plastered at that time of the day!

I see them way more often on week days during the day than at the times when most people tend to drink. I think it may have something to do with not having to pay double pay?

Well some of those coppers are attractive I s'pose ;) dunno about breath taking though....

...and now I've worked out which particular bit of paradise you reside in (that sounds kind of stalkerish but isn't meant to be). It is indeed a nice place :)

LOL, they are breath taking, don't you think? All the pretty flashing lights and blue uniforms...

Oh I love Salina's re-frame. I'm going to say that every time I see the RBT people now - breathtaking and thank you for keeping us all safe from drink drivers.
Go Salina...you are breath taking.
