It didn't work

yep, you heard it right - State Pride was not enough to get the Mightly Maroons over the line often enough to stave of ignoble defeat by the cockroaches. Even though the MM's were close enough to the line often - it just makes that bitter defeat feeling more pronounced.

Sigh - it seems yesterday I should have been either more arduous in my endeavours - or just have not given a toss.

Ah well, at least the floor is clean.

Today? Today I have no goal to work towards (well, except for the one whereby more money flows INTO the house than is sent out of it) so I am doing the laundry, creating edible masterpieces (cubed veal a l'orange) and trying to find a sharp concise explanation of why people should pay me to put into a chamber of commerce newsletter.

That would explain why I am sitting here blogging feeling like this...

They should pay you unless they wish to be struck down by a bolt of lightning for being the stingy, tightwads that they are :P

Jeanie, I admit, I sped read through your post and gave a half chuckle at the 'blah' photo at the end.
But then I spotted the label and I cracked up laughing.
You're so kewl.

See you should just feign indifference with the footy unless you win. ;) That way you don't end up on such a low. I don't think we women need any more rollercoaster emotional stuff to deal with...

I do love the photo though!!

Why am I sitting here looking at photos of you going blah when I need to go shopping and spend money on groceries? Unlike you money will be flowing out of my house today.

Well, I am one of the 'didn't give a toss' variety! Lol! Although a couple of males in my house were devastated! I, on the other hand, went out to dinner with girls and listened to an author talk! So cool in the face of testosterone-laden footy ugghing!

Love the photo, btw!

Jayne - I worded that really badly - it should read "and trying to find a sharp concise explanation of why people should pay me, to put into a chamber of commerce newsletter" - as in I have to self-promote. Gaaaah!!

Alison - ah then, my work is done and I shall bow down.

Debby - no, can't get any up close and personal goss from here about that - although I did meet some internet acquaintances...

Janice - My sister accuses me of closing my eyes when I get photographed - here I prove her wrong and WHY I don't have many photos...

Tracey - I would, but I grew up in a VERY rugby league area and it just sneaks out.

jen - I don't know?

brissiemum2 - so long as you had fun - sounds like a good evening.

What's that about the floor being clean? Do you mean they wiped the floor with you? If so, BWAAAAHAHA!

I feel like that a lot of the time - whatcha talkin' about? *heehee*

No...not looking for 'goss'

I thought it would have been a sure-fire cure for the blahs.

You're pretty even when you sulk... heh heh!

I can't watch - esp when it looks liek the maroons are going down the gurgler, so fiddled with photos the whole game while three males cursed various players and the ref.

It's just not the same as the days when dad would throw himself off the recliner in excitement!

Deb - girls weekend goss now up. You have been warned!

:-)

Dear me. My Commiserations go out to you. My team went down in a screaming heap over the weekend too AND we paid good money to see it live. Oh well. I feigned the indifferent disguise to jeering rellies and it worked a charm.
So nice to see a piccie of you :)
