'Salina had a sleepover

last night. It wasn't the first time, and no doubt it won't be her last.

Yes, yes, that meant lots of hot, juicy curry at our house. Mmmmmm.

She had advised me, as I was leaving her bag with her (and the variety of toys she had requested) that she would call me at bedtime.

Awww - my lovely self-confident girl.

Of course, she forgot. I found that teaching your child to be self-reliant is one thing, but how do you teach it to yourself?

1.30am this morning, I had a dream. I can't really recall it, but it seems there was a text message left on our house phone from her.

Of course, I woke up trying to work the darned message out...

We all know the chorus to that particular chestnut. 1.30 wake up + Jeanie = hugely industrious episode about to follow.

The good news is my kitchen is sparkly. The pantry has never been so regimented, and I had a shopping list that was accurate and precise today - hello full moon.

The bad news is I have been tired as a sloth all day, it took me 2 hours to do the groceries - because it appears no matter how accurate and precise your shopping list is, time and motion get treacle-like when you have to stand in front of the seemingly ever-diminishing options on the shelves and try to find the locally produced yet economic variety of whatever - times 70.

I have just received my summons from 'Salina that I am allowed to come and collect her in 20 minutes, and apart from the 2 - 5 am push, I have failed to tick any other boxes on my list - yes, even that "make list" box is unchecked (how is that for a conundrum) so I shall put it down to recharging the batteries for a Super Sunday show and hope your Saturday was far more productive.

I understand the dlemma. I have been home alone all day while the boys are away. I have the long to do list ready and got all my jobs done ready to finish the packing and clean the rooms. And what Have I done? Twittered .... blogged .... faffed.... (sigh)

Would that waking at odd hours would make me as productive. :)

Mary - I agree. I never get actually upright and active when I wake. I moan, I toss, but never productively!!

I hope you are sleeping soundly now dear sister!!!

If you figure out how to train ourselves to be independent can you let me know?

Just the other week I started telling hubby that he'll have to find a new job when the kids start leaving home cos I won't know what to do with myself with no one at home!

Boo had a sleep over on Friday night. I slept so soundly and until 10am, that my body didn't know that to do with itself and stayed in sloth mode all day - at least you managed something productive in that time ;)
